New Haven was a gift to our family. The approach that focuses on the family rather than just one member of the family is crucial to the total change and healing process. Every situation is unique but the common elements of compassion, love and values for the whole family allows for a safe environment for change...and healing. Hope starts here...

New Haven represents one of the most outstanding experiences that our family has been blessed with over the years. Like many who are searching for answers and direction - - We, as parents, were lost at sea as we watched our daughter drowning in confusion, pain, and sorrow. Within 6 months at New Haven, our daughter was off all medications and was thriving. I'll never forget Jessica Jenkins and the entire team. Jessica lifted us out of the abyss when we were losing hope. New Haven provided the environment that made it possible to find core meaning. It has been one year now since our daughter made her transition, we think about the comfort and strength that we derived from New Haven every day. We are grateful.

New Haven changed my life for the better 9 years ago. I will always be speechlessly grateful for everyone from Dustin Tibbits, Director at the time I was there, to the teachers to my individual and family therapists to my house Mom who taught me to run everyday as a coping strategy for my depression, PTSD, and anxiety. New Haven teaches young women to empower themselves and work through the struggles, push and then thrive through the program. They cannot work miracles and it requires willpower by every individual but they teach girls all of the tools to move forward and live the healthiest life possible. New Haven is a safe place for young girls to ultimately better their lives for the long run. It does not mean that once they've completed and transitioned from the program that their life will be perfect but every single tool that I learned while at New Haven I still implement today. I went from a struggling, suicidal teenager to a thriving adult with healthy relationships, skills to work through hard times, and a happy life. 9 years after graduating from the program I am still learning everyday but feel more in control of my life and my mental health than I ever would have if I had not been to New Haven. I am forever grateful to New Haven for saving my life.

Almost 9 years after leaving New Haven, I can confidently say that New Haven was the best decision ever made for myself, my family, and my future. They were able to provide me with the tools and resources for me to be able to lead a successful life. New Haven provides a caring and compassionate approach, while empowering girls to change their behaviors and lives. Each staff member was integral to my continued success. The emphasis on a family centric approach truly helped my family be able to heal and come together. Further, the values-based program helped me to learn what it meant to be authentic and live with integrity was. New Haven was a safe haven for me and, for the first time in many years, was able to provide hope and promise to conquer my darkest demons through an eating disorder, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and self harm. Nine years later, I am genuinely happy, healthy, and successful and I wholeheartedly attribute my success to the work that myself and my family were able to accomplish with the supportive love of New Haven. Words cannot express my gratitude for New Haven and their amazing staff.

The staff at New Haven surrounded my daughter and our family with love and compassion as they helped us to heal. We received exceptional therapeutic support. Being at an RTC is hard work, but New Haven's approach has helped my daughter to have long term success. We will forever be grateful to our NH family!

My daughter has been at New Haven for about 7 weeks. In that short amount of time we have seen amazing results. The staff is kind and caring, our family therapist is amazing, and they utilize recreation and equine therapy. Sending our daughter to a treatment center wasn’t an easy decision but when we ran out of options and couldn’t help her anymore we were thankful to find New Haven. They heavily involve the family and help not only the girl but the family unit to heal, and in our case, fix communication and trust as well.

After searching many options—New Haven remained the top of our list. Their emphasis on a family-centric approach has been tremendous. New Haven has amazing professionals and staff who truly care for their students. Highly recommended.

This place has saved our family. My daughter has been there for almost 8 months. The whole family has to put I the work. Yes, the child is the one who must leave home and live away from the family, but everyone in the family must make changes in order for the treatment to be a success. I am in Florida, and it was the hardest decision ever to send my baby all the way to Utah for help. It's the best move I've ever made as her mother. Her therapist is a Godsend. She genuinely cares for my child and our family. During this past holiday home pass, we needed to call on our therapist the day after Christmas to help me work through some issues happening at home. She was there for our family on her day off....even talking to me while getting her children ready for an afternoon movie. It's not perfect, but I don't know a treatment center that is. I will say New Haven saves lives....not just the daughter's, but the whole families' lives.

I have been with New Haven for almost 3 years and am so grateful to be a part of such a great program. I work with people who are invested in providing quality care and holding themselves to high standards. Working at New Haven I get to witness families come in, commited to healing and bettering their relationships, and I see first hand the incredible peace and love that begins to replace crisis and pain. I have worked and volunteered at multiple programs and it is truly rare to find the kind of quality and sophistication that New Haven has. I would recommend New Haven to all of my closest friends and family as either placement for their daughter and or employment for themselves.

There are aspects of New Haven that definitely weren't good for me, but it saved my life. Obviously you can never have a completely perfect staff as many reviews have pointed out but so many of the therapists and staff I there are the best people I've ever met, and are deeply committed to helping people. I've been to a few treatment centers and New Haven though flawed was by far the best.

New Haven really knows what they are doing when it comes to healing girls and families. My time at New Haven was difficult at times but I never doubted the intentions of those who were in charge of my care. New Haven instilled in me values that I have carried over into my own family. I left New Haven 7 years ago and the impact and relationships are still holding strong. There were times I disagreed with staff members and my own therapist but that is to be expected when everyone is so passionate and invested in each other. I truly felt like everyone at New Haven wanted to see each of us succeed; from the grounds staff, the cooks, teachers, residential staff, admissions staff, therapists and those we had little interaction with. It was like being part of a family. I thank God for New Haven. I would not have the relationship I do with my parents and siblings if it I hadn't gone to a place that placed such emphasis on relationships. I give New Haven a lot of credit for the success of my marriage and the strong communication my husband and I have. New Haven not only saved my life and relationships but made them better than I thought possible.

New Haven was amazing. I got out 9 months ago and I am so thankful for all of the help the staff and my therapist gave me. There were definitely things that I believe new haven needs to work on, but for the most part it helped me greatly. Parents should be cautious to send a LGBT kid here because a lot of the staff have a very hard time separating their religious beliefs with the program. I am gay and this was definitely problematic for me because most of the staff were not supportive AT ALL if the girls were questioning their sexual orientation or if they were having challenges because they are ashamed of their sexuality. Other than that, New Haven was AMAZING. The staff were great and very helpful and supportive. I would highly recommend it because the groups, individual therapy, family therapy, and more helped aid my recovery so much. The other kids that were there were also soooo supportive. Even though I haven't seen them in 9 months, I still consider a lot of them some of my best friends. I don't know where I would be without New Haven and I am eternally grateful for everybody there. I actually miss New Haven so much because it was so amazing and I was so happy there for the first time in my life. Some of the staff and therapist there that were the best were my therapist Chris, one of the other therapists Brian, a staff Oscar, a staff Mary, the lead in my house (I was in Parks) named Claire, and so many others. One constructive thing about New Haven though was that there was such a high turnover rate and some of my favorite staff quit before I left. Some of those staff were Rachel Nealy, Mandy, Nicole, and more. But I do understand that New Haven can't totally control if staff quit or not... Overall, New Haven was amazing and I am so thankful for it.

This place has good and bad aspects. Parents please do careful research before you send your daughter here. It is NOT appropriate for students who are LGBT. The staff is not able to keep their religious views separate from how they treat students, regardless of how much they say they do. It personally helped me and my family's relationship tremendously. However it did NOT help in the other aspects for which I was admitted. The psychiatrist refused to listen to me re: medication. My therapist was later fired, though the executive staff refused to listen to my myriad complaints about him (inconsistency, untruthfulness, etc.) In short, treatment was forced UPON me rather than being something I chose for myself in collaboration with the staff.

I have been working for New Haven for 5 years. I am so impressed with the help they provide for teen girls. The therapists, staff, nurses and teachers want the very best for each girl. I have seen these girls take a beautiful transformation. They come in confused and lost as they try to decide who they really are. They are coached and guided so that they can define what is truly important to them. They leave here with conviction and a new light in their eyes. It is so hard to see them go but I love that New Haven keeps in touch and makes sure they have success in the home at keeping with their goals.
