Having had both family and friends attend this program I've witnessed remarkable things. These things happened because of this place and the people inside of it. Addiction is a complicated and painful thing, for addicts themselves, as well as their family members and our communities in general. Not everyone agrees with the new definition of addiction as a disease, some believe it a choice, and still others aren't sure of either - one thing I think all can agree on is that it is a serious problem that won't fix itself. MATR's approach to treatment is unique in a multitude of ways. Every person who walks through the door is different, and because of that, so is their individual program. The training and tools given are not centered solely on addiction, but on whole self healing and betterment through scientifically proven methods. Beyond that, the "MATR family" is a support system always available to the individual and their family before, during, and after treatment, including a newly opened out-patient center in Orem. Don't take my word for it, call and talk to any of the staff who are more than happy to help address any questions or concerns, including financial assistance. These people truly care and desire to make a difference and their willingness to go above and beyond for the clients they see can make all the difference in the world for the addict who may feel like there is no hope left.

I spent years thinking that I am the way I am, accept me or don't. Well I didn't accept myself, how could I accept others or how could others accept me. I didn't love myself how could others love me. I am learning to accept that I am able to change and that change is good. I am able to say today that I love myself more than I ever have. I understand life is hard at times, still life is amazing as well. Learning that I have a choice on how I respond, I choose how I react. MATR is more than a drug addiction program, they teach quantum physics, the functions of the human brain, and linguistics. MATR has given me an arsenal of tools to use in my life and my recovery.

I came through here October 24th 2014. MATR saved my life! It helped me to see the real me again. They gave me the tools to be successful and happy again, now it is my job to use these tools daily. I now have my own place. My 3 kids that chose not to live with me while I was using have now moved back in with me! I am forever grateful for the clients and staff that helped teach me this material!
